When are you suppose to use Ball-Point needles? Needles come in variety of sizes but they only come in 2 different points; Ball or Sharp. Of course, you can not tell the difference with naked eyes, but under a microscope one is definitely sharper than the other. Also, if you start using wrong needles for your project, you can and will find out  the difference. Ball point needles are invented so that when the needle penetrates your fabric, the needle pushes itself through rather than cutting and slicing through. 

Therefore,  use Ball points on T-Shirts, Golf-Shirts, Pillow Cases, Handkerchief, Towels, all Women's Wear, and Sweaters.
